Lyrics - Listen - Review - Chat Soulman - Better Than This - I Don't Mind That - What If? - Call Me Daddy - If There's Any Justice - Don't Give it Up - Time to Grow - Complicated Cupid - Maybe Just Maybe - Feels Right - All I Ever Do (pt2) - I Believe In A Thing Called Love "With
my writing I've decided to tackle one or two more difficult topics. 'Don't Give It
Up' is a song about a young person being forced into having sex a bit
too early and there's a song called 'Call Me
Daddy' that deals with
miscarriages - what mentally you go through in a situation like
that." "You get tired of writing about love - 'She doesn't love me, she's leaving tomorrow, I'm leaving her, she loves me again' - and I wanted to dig a bit deeper. There's a song about miscarriage and one about kids growing up too quickly. It's not preachy, it's just a message that says just chill out and don't feel bullied into doing anything you don't want to do. Just be yourself." Urban Essentials Interview: When you take a look at some of the tracks... the album definitely has a more cutting-edge feel to it, was that purposefully done? "100% definitely, definitely. I purposefully wanted to make this album a bit more soulful, like you say, cutting edge, a bit more fresh. I wanted to make sure that I kept my audience that I had along on the first album; that's where I lot of people go wrong, they hit on something and think "I want to do something completely different". So, I made sure that the album had elements of what I thought were the elements of the first album that kept people. But I definitely wanted that wherever I went and did RnB or Soul, I wanted to make it even more RnB, even more soul, just so that I touched people even deeper. "Topically I wanted to push it as well, like the song about peer pressure and sex, the song about miscarriage and so on, Maybe Just Maybe..."
